Using the Blocked & Allowed apps settings screen in AVG Internet Security

The Blocked & Allowed apps screen in AVG AntiVirus FREE allows you to manage which applications on your PC are always blocked or always allowed by Ransomware Protection.

If you have AVG Internet Security, you can additionally use the Blocked & Allowed apps screen to manage the premium AVG features below:

Refer to the instructions in the sections below to access and then use the Blocked & Allowed apps settings screen:

Open Blocked & Allowed apps

  1. Open AVG AntiVirus and go to MenuSettings.
  2. Select GeneralBlocked & Allowed apps in the left panel.

The Blocked & Allowed apps settings screen shows your List of blocked apps and your List of allowed apps:

  • Blocked apps: When an application is blocked by an AVG feature, the AVG feature always prevents the application from accessing your system. You are not notified when a blocked application attempts to access your system.
  • Allowed apps: When an application is allowed by an AVG feature, the AVG feature always allows the application to access your system. You are not notified when an allowed application accesses your system.

Refer to the relevant sections below to manage your blocked or allowed apps:

If an untrusted application attempts to access your webcam, sensitive documents, protected folders, or stored passwords, you may receive a notification from AVG asking to block or allow the interaction.
