Installing Antivirus on Devices
- Visit https://www.avast.com/installation-files and click on the Business tab
- Click on your Avast Business Antivirus (Pro/Plus) product for either Microsoft Windows/Servers or Mac OS to download/save/run the online install file
- When the Antivirus install file starts, click the Customize link below the Install button
- Under the Which components do you want to install? section:
- For Microsoft Windows workstations, do one of the following:
- Workgroup Networks: select Recommended protection
- Domain Networks: select Custom protection and disable (uncheck) both the Real Site and Wi-Fi Inspector boxes
- For regular Microsoft Windows Servers, select Minimal protection
- For Terminal Servers, select Custom protection and disable (uncheck) everything except File Shield
- For Microsoft Windows workstations, do one of the following:
- Click the Install button

You may download/save the Antivirus installation files, without a management console, on a USB flash drive to run on each device to install.

Server Operating Systems
If you have an email server (such as Microsoft Exchange) and/or are behind a proxy server, please see Configuring Email and Proxy Servers in Avast Business Antivirus. Follow the instructions above and disable (uncheck) both the Real Site and Wi-Fi Inspector components when installing on server operating systems.
Terminal Servers
We do not support terminal servers. If you are installing Avast Business products on a terminal server, we recommend to enable/install only the File Shield component and no other Avast components/features/services.
Update Client And Restart Device
After the installation of the Antivirus client has completed successfully:
Local Client
- Please immediately update your local Antivirus client by following the instructions in Updating Virus definitions and Avast Antivirus Program version
- Restart the device when prompted after updating the Antivirus client
