How to add a custom logo to the Norman Patch and Remediation update agent

Instructions


In order to show your own custom logo in the patch agent when the end-users are notified about a pending deployment or a reboot, please follow the steps below:
  1. Log onto the Patch & Remediation Console
  2. Navigate to Review > Other > Packages
  3. Click Create to launch the Local Package Editor Wizard

    Package Information: fill out the Name, Description and Information URL

    Operating System: Select the Operating System

    Files and Directories
    1. Right click on Target Computer > Create Folder
    2. Enter the following folder name %GRAVITIXDIR% and click Create
    3. Select the %GRAVITIXDIR% 
    4. Right click and select Add File > Add logo.bmp

      Note: %GRAVITIXDIR% is an internal environment variable that can be interpreted by the Patch and Remediation Module. This variable will place the logo.bmp to the following folders:
      • Windows x86 - C:\Program Files\Norman\Patch Agent\
      • Windows x64 - C:\Program Files (x86)\Norman\Patch Agent\
  4. Complete the Local Package Editor Wizard and schedule the deployment to your target computers

Image Dimensions

To add a custom logo, the Patch Module requires the following image file name and image dimensions:
  • Logo.bmp
  • 250x164
Logo.bmp should be placed in the following folder:
  • Windows x86 - C:\Program Files\Norman\Patch Agent\
  • Windows x64 - C:\Program Files (x86)\Norman\Patch Agent\
To test your custom logo, deploy the A-Deployment Test and Diagnostic Package to a couple of endpoints with the Patch Module installed to ensure that you are satisfied with the image.
