Manually Migrate From Endpoint Protection To Business Antivirus

Before You Begin

Before installing/migrating from the Avast Endpoint Protection (Suite/Plus) to the Avast Business Antivirus (Pro/Plus) client, please do the following:

  1. Verify all of your devices meet the minimum System Requirements located at the bottom of the page
  2. Verify the latest build/service pack and updates are installed for all of your operating systems.
Managed Versus Unmanaged
You will need to decide if your Avast Business Antivirus (Pro/Plus) activation/license code is for either the Managed or Unmanaged product. Please see the Avast Business Antivirus Managed Versus Unmanaged knowledge base article for more information.
Restart Devices
Please anticipate restarting all migrated/updated devices at least twice during this procedure, even if not prompted to do so!

3. Migrate Avast Clients

Your devices may require a restart after migrating/upgrading from the Avast Endpoint Protection to the Avast Business Antivirus client, even if not prompted to do so.

Managed

If using Managed, the next step is to setup your Avast Management Console and migrate your Avast Business Antivirus clients.

By default, the Avast Management Console will overwrite settings in the local Avast Business Antivirus client, so all settings should be changed in either the Cloud Management (web) Console at https://business.avast.com/ or in the Business Management (on-premise) Console and not in the local Avast Business Antivirus client. Please allow adequate time for the Avast Management Console to synchronize changed settings with the Avast Business Antivirus clients. To force immediate synchronization, please restart the local device.

Unmanaged

If using Unmanaged, the next step is to migrate your Avast Business Antivirus clients.
