Why is Norman being discontinued?

Norman products are being discontinued because they are no longer compliant with Windows anti-malware guidelines. To ensure Norman users remain protected, we are migrating all Norman customers to AVG products, free of charge.

Why do I see popups to migrate to AVG?

Norman products are being discontinued because they no longer compliant with Windows anti-malware guidelines. To ensure Norman users remain protected, all Norman customers will be migrated to AVG products free of charge. The popups are simply notifications of the migration and an opportunity to install AVG.

What will happen to my Norman license?

During migration, your Norman license is automatically transferred to an AVG product and extended by one month.

Is the migration to AVG automatic?

You can manually migrate to AVG from the interface of your current Norman product or wait until June, when all Norman products will be automatically migrated to AVG.

How do I activate my AVG product after the migration?

After migration, your AVG product is automatically activated. To use the full advantages of AVG, we recommended creating an AVG MyAccount which allows you to use your AVG product on other devices.

What happens when I click the popup “upgrade to AVG now” when my Norman license is still valid?

When you upgrade to AVG, your license is applied to your product and extended to the end of the month it expires. For example, if your Norman license expires on November 10th, your license is valid for your new AVG product until November 30th.

What happens if my Norman license is expired?

If you Norman license is expired, your license is not transferred to AVG.

Which AVG product will I be migrated to?

Norman users are migrated to a trial version of AVG. While using your trial version of AVG, you are prompted via popup notification to create an AVG MyAccount. When you create this account, your AVG trial version switches to AVG Internet Security - Unlimited which is valid until the end of the month that your Norman subscription expires.

Why was I migrated to a trial version of AVG when I have a paid license for Norman?

When you migrate from Norman to AVG, you will begin using a trial version of AVG. While using your trial version of AVG, you are notified via popup (about 24 hours after the migration) to create an AVG MyAccount which switches your AVG trial to AVG Internet Security - Unlimited. Your paid Norman license is applied to your AVG product and extended to the end of the expiration month.

Do I need to create an AVG MyAccount?

When you migrate from Norman to AVG, you will begin using a trial version of AVG. To switch AVG from trail mode to AVG Internet Security - Unlimited, you need to create an AVG MyAccount. When prompted to create the account (about 24 hours after the migration to AVG), follow the on-screen instructions in the pop-up notification to set up the account.
