Uninstalling the AVG management console (previously known as AVG Zen)

The AVG management console (formerly known as AVG Zen) is a platform for managing each of your AVG products that may have been installed on your PC with older versions of AVG software, including AVG AntiVirus version 16.9 and lower and AVG PC TuneUp. To fully uninstall the AVG management console, you must first uninstall all connected AVG products. You can then uninstall the AVG management console.

Uninstall connected AVG products

  1. Ensure no other application is running on your PC.
  2. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Apps and Features from the menu that appears.
  3. Ensure that Apps & features is selected in the left panel, then click either AVG Protection (this represents your AVG AntiVirus application) or AVG PC TuneUp, and select Uninstall.
  4. On your keyboard, press the Win key and X key simultaneously, then select Programs and Features from the menu that appears.
  5. Click the Windows Start button and select Control Panel.
  6. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program if you are using the default category view, ...or click Programs and Features if you are using the large/small icons view.
  7. Right-click either AVG Protection (this represents your AVG AntiVirus application) or AVG PC TuneUp, then select Uninstall from the drop-down menu.
  8. If prompted for permissions by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes.
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions in the AVG uninstallation wizard to remove the selected AVG product.
  10. If both AVG Protection and AVG PC TuneUp are installed on your PC, repeat the steps above to uninstall both products.

After you have removed all connected AVG products from your PC, you can uninstall the AVG management console.

Uninstall the AVG management console

Before you can uninstall the AVG management console using the steps below, you must first uninstall all connected AVG products.
  1. Ensure no other application is running on your PC.
  2. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Apps and Features from the menu that appears.
  3. Ensure that Apps & features is selected in the left panel, then click AVG, and select Uninstall.
  4. On your keyboard, press the Win key and X key simultaneously, then select Programs and Features from the menu that appears.
  5. Click the Windows Start button and select Control Panel.
  6. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program if you are using the default category view, ...or click Programs and Features if you are using the large/small icons view.
  7. Right-click AVG, then select Uninstall from the drop-down menu.
  8. If prompted for permissions by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes.
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions in the AVG uninstallation wizard to remove the AVG management console.

The AVG management console is now removed from your PC.
