Continual File Shield alert screens

I just installed AVG for Mac.  Everything seemed to be fine with scanning and quarantine.  However, I now get the "File Shield alert" pop-up window continuously and it won't stop popping up.  I have tried clicking "Got It"  and just closing the window but it pops back up every 5 seconds or so.  I can't get anything done because of this.  How can I make it go away??  I used AVG on my PC for years and never had a problem.  If I can't fix this I'll have to uninstall AVG for Mac.

Also, I am running MacOS 10.13.1, High Sierra on a 2016 MacBook Pro.  I don't know the AVG version, I downloaded it from your web site.User-added image

Arrggg, thought it went away but now it is back.  Here is the screenshot of the window that continually pops up and is persistently on top.  User-added image It is preventing me from getting anything done.  If this can't be solved quickly, I will have to delete AVG and not upgrade to the purchased version.

Joe,
Thank you for providing screenshot. Please click on 'See details' button at the bottom right corner of the threat detection popup and it will show the path of detected file. Please go to that path and check if that file exists there. Also, please share the screenshot of threat detection popup after clicking 'See details' option.

I am having the same problem, with the windows version. I've searched my entire hard drive for a file with this name, and it doesn't exist. The threat came via an email scan, yet I can't see any flagged emails and nothing is in quarantine, and scan my pc finds nothing. My computer is almost unusable with this pop of that comes back every time I dismiss it. I've included a screenshot - can someone please tell me how to resolve this?

Some additional info - after I reboot my computer, I don't get the popup until I start my email client. It persists even after the email client application has been closed. I have to reboot to stop the pop-ups, and it starts again, continuously, as soon as I launch my email program.

Sue, a suspicious email attachment is blocked by AVG and it is not downloaded to PC, that's the reason why it is not located in quarantine. To resolve this:
1) Disable AVG Email shield component
2) Download all emails
3) Locate and delete email containing attachment "Scan_001_15072014-991.zip".
4) Enable AVG email shield

I have a Mac and have the same problem - with Sierra and Mojave.
The popup screen is TOO INVASIVE.
It interrupts watching movies, working on important documents etc.
It breaks concentration, ruins the 'mood' in a good movie, and also makes me physically reach out and work on the keyboard when I'm trying to relax with a movie or a meditation video etc.

Moreover, the popup is USELESS.  It doesn't ask me to take any action and insists I acknowledge that a threat has been secured already. If it is already secured, don't bug me!!!!

Your soultion hasn't worked for me.
When I delete the files, they somewhat re-appear.

Hello C L,
We can certainly take a look into this. Could you share a screenshot of the AVG threat detection pop up with "see details" page to proceed further.

dialog box that keeps showing up

Hello,
I just started to get this pop up and I performed the recommended scan.  Scan came up empty but the pop up persists.  Since it is pointing to my Chrome app .exe file, how would I clear this?
