IDP.Generic, Clientrunner.exe.

AVG has quarantined Clientrunner.exe, stating it is a threat (IDP.Generic). I'm not sure if this is true or if it accidentally quarantined this file. But it doesn't allow me to restore or delete the files.

Hi Kurtis,

We will certainly look into this.

Can you please share the screenshot [http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot] of the threat detection message to check and proceed further?

I have just faced a quite similar problem, but the program which AVG tried to quarantine was MPSIGSTUB.EXE. I restarted my computer (not this one) in safe modus without internet connection and tried to start AVG to try again. But alas, I will not start, and just present a new error message:

Ul Failed to load.
This is really embarrassing.
AV Service is not responding.

This doesn't look very good. Do I have to open the program with internet connection?

Hello Knut,

The error message you have received is due to user interface issue.

AVG cannot be started in safe mode.

Please restart your computer in normal mode and check if everything works fine.

Thanks! I took the chance and AVG was working. I scanned the computer and found no malware. The IDP.Generic warning from yesterday still bother me a little, but hope that AVG will prevent any problems with it.
