I have error messages stating that the antivirus and spyware databases are out of date. When I manually update it takes 5 seconds and says I'm up to date but the error messages continue on. This has existed since July.

I included three screenshots to view. Please see the attached files. Apparently August was the last time it updated correctly. The third picture comes from the Quick launch bar icon for ZEN.

It seems that you have an older version of AVG installed on your computer.
The latest version is 18.6.
Please uninstall http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG the older version of AVG from your computer.
Use this link http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-Protection to install the latest version of AVG Internet Security.
AVG Zen is removed in the latest version of AVG and it no longer works.
