Advanced firewall not available

pretty regularly for the last few days I have had "Advanced Firewall Turned Off" warnings coming up. When I try to turn it on again I get "Advanced firewall not available" the only way I have managed to work around this is to run a smart scan and when it gets to Advanced issues it flags up that only basic firewall is operative. Resolving this then turns the advanced firewall back on. My issue is why is it continuously being turned off?

Hi Martin,

This isn't the expected behavior.
We request you to open AVG Internet Security program window.
Click on "Hacker Attacks" and check the status of Enhanced Firewall.
We also request you to provide the screenshot of that window.
You can post the screenshot by clicking on 'Image' (mountain symbol) from 'Answer' field.

At boot up the task bar shows there is a problem on the AVG icon. clicking on this shows as usual that the enhanced firewall is not on. As instructed I clicked on "Hacker Attacks" which shows that the enhanced firewall is ticked. However the AVG Icon still shows a warning and there is a notification that says the enhanced firewall is turned off. When I try to turn it on as usual "Enhanced firewall not available!" pops up. Thanks for the details, Martin.

I suggest you to repair AVG Internet Security and check if you see the same in the notifications.

Also, we have released 20.4 version for AVG Internet Security, so please check for updates.
