Firewall Rules

I tried the "Support Chat" first, but got nothing but a spinning dot wheel.

When I try to create or edit firewall rules, under the actions of " Action, Protocol, Direction, etc" I get a black bar when the pop-down arrow is clicked instead of the appropriate choice for the rule setting. This seems to be new since the last software update.

Anyone know why this might be happening, or experiencing it for themselves?

Hello Nisha Sivakumar.
I've tried your suggestion. The repair when through the motions ending in success. However nothing seems to have changed. Firewall Rules still just show a black bar when choosing options for rules. Also current rules show that the rules have optitions like Action/ALLOW, Direction/OUT to be filled out, however when you click the pencil to edit the rule, the options with arrows are blank, and when you go to choose an option like set to block from allow you get a black box instead of the option list. However I can change the name of the rule and the network ports used.

In short I can change the Enabled/Disabled Option of a rule, I can change the name of a rule and I can alter the ports used for a rule. Every other option for creating or editing firewall rules are unavailable to edit.

Not sure if this is relavent, but this is on a fresh install of windows/avg all updates are installed.

Any suggestions? Thanks

I've responded via email. It's STILL happening! Did someone infect AVG with a virus injected into the update Broken Firewall Rulesto shutdown the firewall?
