If AVG Secure VPN is turned on, then your original ip address will be masked and it can't be viewed by anyone. Could you explain how did you confirm that your identity was known by someone?

For example, Amazon.com greets me by the words Hi Dan and informing about my city, postal code etc . Pinterest. com suddenly shows my hotmail adress a s o. Besides protection against people on the web, I should - I guess - be protected against the websites I visit. What can I do?
I have tried a number of locations, but most didn´t work. One that did - I think - was the one on Iceland. What can be the reason for this ? The VPN evidently works and is activated: it says I am protected , it shows the new IP-number that i evidently use. So it is a mystery.
Initially, we'd like to clarify that, even with the AVG Secure VPN enabled, there are certain websites which can identify geolocation, as they have taken counter measures to detect & block their users from accessing its content through Secure VPN servers. While we do continue to add new servers and IP addresses, they are quite fast to identify the same. However, you can try connecting to streaming & P2P servers (locations) that are available in Secure VPN & check. Thank you for your understanding in advance!
