VPN frozen

My AVG VPN tells me I'm not connected to the internet on one of my devices only. However all of my other internet services do work normally. I have uninstalled VPN and then re-installed it, but it produces the same result. My VPN licence runs out in May 2021.
Please help........

Hello Michael.
We regret the inconvenience.
May I know which device it is?
Could you click 'Change location' on AVG Secure VPN, connect to a different VPN server and check if that resolves the issue?

Hi Avinash,
The device is this laptop which is a HP Pavilion g series, core i3, running on Windows 7.
I cannot even invoke AVG VPN on this laptop, it gives the responce "You are Offline - please connect to the internet to use your VPN". However, I am connected to the internet for all other programs on this laptop, it is solely the VPN which states I an not!!
I am not sure, but I believe that it is not a dedicated ISP, it just picks one up on booting.
