Notifications with nothing happening

I usually have the sound off on my Samsung mobile but today it was on  every so often  it beeps like something is happening but when look the App in the notification bar is inactive? Its really annoying?! What do I turn off because I want to know if there is a threat with this "trilling" is driving me nuts!!

Have you installed AVG AntiVirus in your mobile?

No, as i said, I don't see any activities at all. I also have the scan set up daily so doing another seems counter productive. I have only installed on my Samsung mobile so I don't know if its stopped cos I turned off the sounds as it was driving me crazy(!!)
