Hello,                                                                             
Why does the VPN not work???                                                                                          
I am in the Canary Islands and which ever one of the 3 use Glasgow, London or Wonderland I get
'Not available in your Region' when I try to use BBC iPlayer.

You've reached the AVG community support forum.
Regrettably, certain streaming websites have taken counter measures to block users from accessing their content through Secure VPN servers.
While we do continue to add new servers and IP addresses, they are quite fast to identify the same.
However, you can try connecting to one of the Streaming or Torrenting servers (locations) that are available in AVG Secure VPN & check for the issue.
Also, please enable the Mimic VPN protocol in your AVG Secure VPN by following the below steps:
Open AVG Secure VPN > Menu > Settings > Protocols > Select Mimic.
