Windows 10 upgrade missing MSVCR110.dll

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and now when I start my machine I get an error message for AVGUIX.EXE saying I am missing MSVCR110.dll.

I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling which didnt work. I then tried the AVG remover tool which also didnt work. Everytime I try installing, I get the same error message.

Not sure where to go from here

MSVCR110.dll is the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable dll that is needed for projects built with Visual Studio 2011. The dll letters spell this out.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

will get you the 2015 installer:  windows c++ 2015 redistributable for Windows 10

Download the 32 or 64 bit VCR installer as necessary....

Run the installer as admin

Probably best to uninstall all AVG products from control panel

then:

Download and run the AVG uninstaller:
1)For 32-bit: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x86_2015_5501.exe
2) For 64-bit: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x64_2015_5501.exe

run that.

Download the latest AVG Anti-virus installer and re-install as admin.

This has happened to me twice now after Windows 10 has installed updates.

Hi AVG,

I have the same problem. Seeing as this forum is getting quite big, how about posting a solution to everyone instead of sending e-mails? I can't use AVG now with the exact same error and problem, yet you send solutions via e-mail instead of posting it on your website. AVG was running fine on Windows 10 until Windows updated itself this week. Seeing I'm not the only one with this problem perhaps contacting your clients everywhere with a solution? Please assist as I'd like for my PC to be protected.

Also, seeing as not everyone is as IT savvy to understand Visuals and C++ files, how about an installer that fixes things for people who are 'normal' pc users?

Hello Mark.
Thank you for contacting us. We would request you to have a look at the steps in this article http://avgread.me/1Ens2g7 to resolve your issue. Thank you.

Im getting this MSVCR110.dll error as well, but I dont understand why its still showing up when I removed the program using the remove link listed in one of the other threads related to removing the program. I removed it as it was incompatible with my Operating System of Windows 10....but this error message is beginning to get annoying. It keeps stating that it cant locate the file....well DUH! I removed the program...of course its not there. Help!! I dont want to have to do a format of my harddrive just to get rid of this stupid error message!
Balasubramanian SBalasubramanian S (Avast)
Hello Lisa,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Have you downloaded and installed this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 Microsoft tool?
Lisa KLisa K
I cant seem to find my other post. However the error box that keeps coming up is this- downloader2.exe. The program can't start because MSVCP100.dll is missing fom your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I dont understand since of course it can't start the program....I removed it with the tool for removing the program due to it being incompatible with my Windows 10 OS. When the program was removed, I should have stopped getting these errors. Even before I removed it, when Id try to reinstall the program it failed so thats why I finally looked up how to remove it and found another users post in which someone here gave him the link to removing AVG.
