Stephen Jones AVG Zen free will not install/uninstall - no removal tool
I tried to install AVG Zen (free) on my W7 Pro laptop. It appeared to install OK, but would not run, saying invalid licence details. I tried uninstalling - it would not. I downloaded and ran the AVG removal tool (not realising until later that there is no removal tool for Zen - only for 2015 and previous). It seemed to uninstall, however there are remnants. I tried installing Zen again, but get error 0xe001d012 - undocumented - "call support" No support for free users, of course. HELP!
I guess that my only option is to scratch install the PC as my Internet access is now affected - prohibiting access - proxy server problems. I tried resetting to default, to no avail.

I restarted and was able to uninstall. I reinstalled, because I *really* like AVG Free Anti-Virus. For whatever reason every download I see is for Zen, not AVG Free. Anyhow, the intall failed again, so I went over to a different anti-virus, sadly.

You might have downloaded AVG protection free version instead of AVG antivirus program from our website.

I have gone throgh all the steps to remove AVG from my system then installed the free AVG, but AVG Zen still continues to install??

Zen did not install properly. Your removal tool did not work (at the time) Perhaps you have improved both now.

We would request you to run the AVG remover tool to remove AVG completely and re install AVG using offline installation file based on your OS ( 32 bit or 64 bit).
To run remover tool, please visit http://www.avg.com/tools#tba2 and click on "AVG Remover" to download the remover tool and run it on your PC. It will ask you to select which product you would like to uninstall. Please select "AVG Protection" and follow the setup instructions to uninstall AVG.

We are extremely sorry to keep you informed that from the latest update of the AVG program it is mandatory to install the Zen Interface along with the Free version of the AVG program. The offline installer is no more available for download.
