Error code: 0XC007001D

OS: XP 32bit service pk 3 - AMD Athlon 2600+ - 2GB ram - 146 GB free space on hard drive.

One or two others have reported the same error message - has a solution been identified yet?

After updating AVG internet security 2015 (paid version) it crashed and would not run. It was uninstalled and the system was cleaned using the AVG removal tool, which was then deleted as instructed afterwards. Despite this AVG, including older versions, will not reinstall and will only display the above error code.

Any suggestions, please?

Any chance of a response please: I have a paid version; tech support is very slow, which is not good customer service.

I have answered your email and requested further assistance - when will someone respond???

After a lack of response and proper support I've lost patience: AVG has been replaced on the problem computer and will also be replaced on all other computers. The AVG licence will not be renewed.

I found it on this page: https://www.techmesto.com/avg-2015-offline-installer-standalone/

The specific file I used is:  http://files-download.avg.com/inst/av/avg_free_x86_all_2015_ltst_222.exe

It upgraded itself to the most current version of AVG 2015 and stopped there.  If you have an SSE1 class CPU, AVG 2015 is the highest version you can install as of this writing.

From the "For Whatever it's worth AVG Free Department":  My older XP PC's that have an SSE1 class CPUs are currently running AVG 2015.0.6173 and are receiving database updates and ARE NOT nagging me to update to AVG 2016. Run Program Update Schedule is ON.

My newer XP PC's that have an SSE2 class or better CPUs are currently running AVG 2016.0.7227 and are receiving database updates. Run Program Update Schedule is ON.
