Error loading type Library/DLL. (0xC007001D)

I spent hours on this. I get the error message no matter what I do to load a newly bought AVG Internet security and again when I to load AVG PC Tune Up.
Anyone know what to do.
Thanks.

Hi Bhuvaneswari,
thanks for getting back to me. The error is Error loading type Library/DLL.(0xC007001D). I have removed all virus programs, I even tried to load in Safe Mode. No good, same error. The machine ( of course not this iPad) is an old PC running Windows XP pro.

No, that doesn't work tried re-instaling twice now and still getting Library/DLL. (0xC007001D) error message.

Total waste of time......and now, by following your instructions, the situation is even worse as my PC now has no antivirus loaded....consequently I need a very quick fix/solution for this problem.

Right, this is getting really stupid - more and more people are highlighting this same problem but you appear to be doing nothing to resolve it....why is there not a simple link to download a 'clean' copy of the updated AVG file(s) that works for all....or is it a problem you don't know how to resolve? We all need answers and pretty quick (that means today!!)

I have the same issue "Error loading type Library/DLL (0xC007001D)" I am running Windows XP Professional Version 2000 Service Pack 3.

I followed the instructions from above (deleted current AVG 2015 and tried to reload, even cleaning out registry with CC Cleaner) and still receive same error. I am even worse off than before because I deleted AVG 2015 and now have no AV protection.

I have used AVG for several years and up until now, have had nothing but praise.

Anyone able to fix this issue?
KishoreKishore (Avast)
Hello David. I am sorry that you have made too many attempts in fixing this issue. I do not wish to make you wait any longer. Regarding the issue that you face, I have sent you an email. Please check your inbox and you will be good to go.

Hello Kishore,

I have the same problem as David ("Error loading type Library/DLL (0xC007001D)" I also running Windows XP Professional Version 2000 Service Pack 3 (32 bits). At the moment I have on my computer AVG Free version 2015.0.6173. When I start my computer I got a popup to upgrade AVG. But when finished downloading the error message appears.
Please sent me also the solution for this problem.

Thanks

Dear Bhuvaneswari, Aravind, Rajendra and more latterly, Kishore,

I'm afraid none of your solutions work at all....I followed the latest 'remedy' gven in your last post, and downloaded the 212Gb file which I then ran and received exactly the same Library/DLL error message.

As I seem to be the 'invisible man' here (I've not had a personal reply on this thread OR been sent the emailed instructions mentioned a few times above) so, if anyone posting on the thread has actually resolved the problem, could you please let us know exactly how you did it as the AVG technical 'experts' appear to be struggling very badly with this problem that's now being going on for quite a few weeks.

Very many thanks

I found it on this page: https://www.techmesto.com/avg-2015-offline-installer-standalone/

The specific file I used is:  http://files-download.avg.com/inst/av/avg_free_x86_all_2015_ltst_222.exe

It upgraded itself to the most current version of AVG 2015 and stopped there.  If you have an SSE1 class CPU, AVG 2015 is the highest version you can install as of this writing.

From the "For Whatever it's worth AVG Free Department":  My older XP PC's that have an SSE1 class CPUs are currently running AVG 2015.0.6173 and are receiving database updates and ARE NOT nagging me to update to AVG 2016. Run Program Update Schedule is ON.

My newer XP PC's that have an SSE2 class or better CPUs are currently running AVG 2016.0.7227 and are receiving database updates. Run Program Update Schedule is ON.
KishoreKishore (Avast)
Hello Norton.
Thanks for bringing this to us. I would like to let you know that it is always recommended to upgrade to the latest versions to take advantage of latest technologies. Also, AVG products are compatible with Xp operating systems from version Service pack 3 and above.
Thank you.
Peter L.Peter L.
Hello Kishore,

I also had AVG version 2015.0.6173 like Norton has. Today this version is updated on my computer to version 2015.0.6176. But the problem is still that an upgrading to AVG 2016 is not possible.
As you say, AVG products are compatible with XP operating systems from version Service pack 3 and above. On my computer I have XP with Service pack 3. I would like upgrading to AVG 2016. A pop up invite me to do so.  But when doing I get the Error loading type library/DLL (0XC007001D).
If  AVG 2015 is indeed the highest version -like Norton says- than I (and many users with me), will not take advantage of the latest technologies. I hope AVG will solute this problem.

Hello Kishore,

Thanks. I followed your advice, subscribe the problem again and sent that message to avg support. But no contact will be made. The site stays loading and loading and loading......So this does not works.

I already get this advice from Avinash and the problem was the same.

Why didn't you contact your technical support, subscribe the problem I -and many other users- have and gave us the solution for our problem?

Hello Balasubramanian,

AlthoughI I use the AVG SysInfo tool and loadup my computer files, I did not recieved a solution for my problem. Also I wonder what the technical team could do for me what not can be done for everyone with the same problem. May we expect an solution so everyone can upgrade to AVG 2016? Is AVG working on it? I think many users (Window XP servicepack3) are waiting. Why doesn't AVG fixed it?

Regards,

Peter

Hello Guillaume,
Please be informed that the current CPU is not support as it does not have SSE2 instruction set. Have a look at the following artilce https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Athlon_XP_microprocessors.
Your patience is much appreciated.
Joe BeauJoe Beau
Seriously, AVG, you have and are hurting your credibility as a serious company. I looked this up because on my old "server" that I use for backups, I put your free AVG, also. And it has been coming up with this same "you need to upgrade" crap. As explained in this thread, your brilliant programmers decided to dump SSE2 support and clearly without bothering to tell your customer support staff.
What would it take for you to put out a version of AVG 2015 that does NOT insist upon upgrading if it is running on a SSE2 machine? And just runs as it should? And tells you what the problem is instead of giving a stupid cryptic error message, like "we are too stupid to quickly tell you that we changed our software to NOT run on your machine, so please spend several hours researching why you are getting such a strange error. And please waste a lot of our support staff time because we won't tell them, either, OK?"
Geesh guys, behave like a real company and spend 5 minutes at least trying not to waste your customers time, your customer service staff money and try to put some decent reasonable spin on things.
I cannot turn off your insistance upon upgrading. So, my choice is to get mad and pull AVG from all my machines or ignore your message on this server since I rarely log in directly. There are other antivirus choices, I'm running 3 different ones because I don't trust any one of you guys to not do what AVG just did, unnecessarily turned off support for some class of user.
So, how is it now? You guys continue to think that just because someone is using an old machine that has run perfectly well for years that they aren't a customer with other machines, too. You don't mind leaving them high and dry and wasting time on things that you know and could have easily let them know so they don't waste a lot of time. How about fixing that and behaving like a real company?
AvinashAvinash (Avast)
Hello Joe,
We certainly understand your point but unfortunately, AVG 2015 version is no more available to download and install. We apologize if an AVG product did not meet your expectations. Our main goal is to keep our customers happy.

AVG carefully monitors the quality of our products and the service we provide, therefore all feedback from our customers is important to us. If you have a specific experience with AVG products that you would like to share with us, please share it at http://avgclick.me/AVGfeedback for it to reach the concern people and make the changes as requested. Thank you.

Joe Beau,

Looks like AVG is following Micro-Suck on their policies of favouring Intel over AMD, so seeing as they are to Stupid, Inept, Incapable or Stubborn to fix the problem of us using what They class as Dinosaur CPU`s and PC`s like yours and mine=(AMD Athlon 2000+ on a Gigabyte board  running XP-SP3) and keeps on working while modern ones are dying just out of warranty. They can Stick AVG right whre it fits and i`ll go elsewhere and we`ll let the BAD Reviews Haunt them till they go Broke, Eastern Technical Developers meet Western Users = Company Losses and a Very Bad Reputation..
Ask a question
Struggling with non-AVG technology? We can fix that, too!
