Update failes to complete - hangs

Hello,

I'm on Windows 8 and I have the full version of AVG 2015. Today, my computer is trying to update the AVG software and it gets up to 60% - update in progress / finishing update process... but then sort of gets stuck and never finnishes the process.

I've rebooted several times, does anyone have any ideas ?

Chris, Try this....
Open AVG.
In the top menu click Options, and then click Advanced Settings.
In the left part of the Advanced Settings window double-click Update to show further options.
Click Manage, and then click Delete temporary update files.
Tip: If double-clicking Update does not show the Manage option, click the [+] icon next to Update.
Restart your computer.
Open AVG again, and then click Update now to make sure your AVG is up to date.

Thanks for your quick reply. I tried this but got the same result. It seems to be well and truly stuck at 60 percent. Now that I have rebooted again (a second time), the status is 'update failed'.

Hello Chris.
I am really sorry to know this. I would kindly request you to follow the below instructions
1) First step is to use AVG Remover tool based on your operating system ( http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218 ) and uninstall your AVG program completely. To download AVG Remover Tool please click on the following link: http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities
2) Run the downloaded tool and follow the instructions displayed on your screen.
3) Your computer will be restarted automatically. After the restart, AVG Remover will finish the uninstallation.
4) To install the program AVG Internet Security please have a look at this article: http://avgread.me/1DXPL5z .
This should resolve your issue. Please let us know here your results. Thank you.

Thanks for your response. This morning (after the update git stuck again and my computer hung up), I took it on myself to uninstall and then reinstall AVG 2015. So far, this seems to have done the trick.
