Windows 10 crash with AVG free

I have found a problem when upgradring a PC from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 with AVG Free:
- After upgrading to Win 10, the machine frequently crashed (Blue Screen of Death) at the login screen with an error message "KERNAL AUTOBOOST LOCK ACQUISITION WITH RAISED IRQL". After resetting the PC to remove all installed software including AVG free the problem disappeared. I then re-installed AVG Free from a fresh download, and the crashes returned. So my conclusion is that AVG Free is causing my Windows 10 installation to crash. For the moment I have decided to rely on Windows Defender. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Hello Nick.
AVG antivirus usually doesn't make any changes to the system properties to make the system crash. All it does is just check for the threats and keep you pc protected. However, since you face the bluescreen issue, just follow the below steps to perform clean installation.
I request you to click this link
 http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
to download and run the AVG Remover tool.
Please select the AVG products which are shown in the remover tool window and then start removal process.
After the remover tool process is successfully finished, restart your pc.
After the restart,  manually delete the AVG Remover folder in the C drive of Mycomputer.
Now, reinstall your AVG Free and check if you are able to fix the issue.
Thank you.
