Jacqueline Shirtliff Constant Updates AVG Free
For six or seven days now I have been having updates from AVG on a daily basis. This is seriously affecting the performance of my computer. Furthermore, AVG have stopped sendong notifications of scans and updates (scan starting/finishing & update ready for download) even though all relevant boxes are still ticked. Is something going on with AVG? Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did they resolve it? Any help would be appreciated as AVG constantly running updates in the background is driving me nuts.
I realize how testing the situation can be; please be assured that I shall do my best to resolve the issue…
Please let us know the error message and error code that you face so that we could send you the required fix.

AVG Free it was in the title.
No error messages or codes. Checked AVG activity history and all the upgrades for the past seven days were listed there. Notification pop-ups for scans and upgrades just stopped and upgrades started downloading automatically with mjore fregquency than was usual.
That's okay. Just follow the below steps and you should be good to go.
I request you to click this link
http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
to download and run the AVG Remover tool.
Please select the AVG products which are shown in the remover tool window and then start removal process.
After the remover tool process is successfully finished, restart your pc.
After the restart, manually delete the AVG Remover folder in the C drive of Mycomputer.
Now, install the AVG Free version with this link http://www.avg.com/us-en/download.prd-afh-free

Following your link for the remover tool takes me to my downloads. The only AVG file there is avg.free-stb-2011-1321.cnet. When clicked it says it already exists and do I want to replace it. If I click yes will it direct me to the remover tool. I have to say this does not look quite right to me.

Cannot find AVG_ remover.exe anywhere in downloads or anywhere else for that matter. All I can find is AVG uninstall. I will look at this again tomorrow when I have more time.
