AVG Won't Scan--"Whole computer scan interrupted"

AVG recently started failing update attempts, so I reinstalled per the instructions on the Support site.  Now the app shows the update status as current, but the computer icon shows "Unprotected".  Autofix is unable to repair the issue, and "More Info" takes me to a generic "Unable to correct the problem" page.  When attempting to do a computer scan, it appears to start, but auto-interrupts and shuts down almost immediately.

Thanks for your help!  I did, in fact, completely uninstall all AVG products, downloaded the new 64-bit free version and install it.  The application now seems to be working fine. :)
