Hi, I've just logged into my hotmail email (outlook) account via IE11 & keep getting a microsoft security alert about the site's certificate. Could this be a virus or spyware & if so, how can i stop it. Screen dumps below: - Many thanks Chrissie

Hello Chrissie,

This issue seems that it is not related to our AVG program but however we will try to give some suggestions regarding this. Thank you for attaching the screenshot and it is related to the certification issue. Did you click on Yes, and  do you get the popup each time when you try to access your email account?

Hi, Thank you for replying so quickly. I clicked on No & I get the pop up everytime my screen "refreshes" in hotmail. e.g. opening a new message, logging in or going to another file (sent, drafts. deleted, etc).

You are most welcome. Did you try clicking on Yes once and checked whether you get the popup again?

Hi, I haven't clicked Yes, because I don't know if it would be safe. I don't want to accept some sort of virus or spyware on to my email account.

Hello Chrissie,
Thank you for returning and posting. Please try out the following steps :
1)Open your Internet Explorer web browser
2) At the top right corner below the close button you can find a wagon wheel shaped icon which is called as "Tools" please click on it.
3) Select Internet Options in that and a window will get opened.
4)Choose "Security Tab"
5)You can see the button to adjust the security level. By default it will be selected as "Medium-High". Please pull down to "Medium" and choose apply and finally Ok.
After this try accessing the email account and if the issue persist please contact us back.
Thank you.

Hi, Thank you for all the help & advice. I kept saying "No" when the pop up appeared & eventually it stopped happening. I have no idea why. I did all the usual, re-booted etc, but I don't know why it suddenly stopped. But thanks for all the advice.
Cheers
Chrissie
