when I boot up, an AVG file folder pops up

Whenever I boot up (XP PRO), a Windows Explorer file folder opens.
The path is C:\Documents and Settings\MyUsername\Application Data\AVG

Sometimes "AV' is inside the window, sometimes "AVG"

This started after I accepted a the green AVG Update pop up. It said Your AVG needs to be
updated.

How can I stop this? Thanks

Hello Stephen,
We are sorry for the difficulties you are currently experiencing. Could you please let us know the name of the AVG product you have installed in your pc? and let us know whether your Operating system runs in Service pack 1 or Service pack 2 or Service pack 3, so that we can assist you better.
Please follow the below instruction to stop the folder open :
1)Click on the following link http://live.sysinternals.com/autoruns.exe to download Microsoft auto-run tool.
2)Run the downloaded file. And click on Agree.
3)Once it opens please click on "Logon" tab.
4)From the list you can find AVG name. Please uncheck that box.
5)Then choose File->Save at the top.
6)And close the autorun window.
7)Restart the pc and check whether you get the folder again.
Please feel free to contact us for any further assistance. Thank you.
