I have a svchost.exe that comes up on my task manager that uses 99% of my cpu and 290,000 to 560,000 memory and stops my pc in its tracks. I tried the Google fix where you use 6-7 antivirus and malware programs, all they did was make it so it would respond to the "end process' button on my task manager. I'll end process, after I been on my pc for 20-30 minutes it'll start making noises in my hard drive and acting up, svchost.exe is using up all my memory and cpu again and I have to re- end process it. any help in this problem would be appreiciated!
We would request you to update your AVG to install the latest virus definitions and then run a whole computer scan. Once you made sure your PC has no virus, please try to download the latest Windows updates. If you need any further assistance, please contact the Microsoft support. Thank you.
I scanned my pc twice, the windows updates won't load because the svchost.exe will creep up from the bottom and pretty soon its using all my cpu and memory. It won't let me load the updates.
Vista 32 bit. Whatever this is when I "end process" it, it'll start over around 3,900 on the memory and grow, you can watch it travel up the Task manager again. When I first start my computer its like some three stooges movie cause I have to open the task manager and "end process' the svchost.exe several times, I'll cut it off and it will come crawling back, growing. The google fix that got me back running I used poweliks ESET cleaner, then malware bytes, then hitman pro, then Roguekiller, then emsisoft emergency kit. I also run scans with AVG and Spybot. After doing all them scans and killing any virus or vaulting them now when I hit "end process" instead of nothing it turns it off but it'll regroup and come growing from the bottom of task manager back to the top. I have tried right clicking and going to the file that stores the svchost.ece to delete file, but it says its not allowed. Another thing, if I try to "end process" all svchost when I get down to the ones with 1,234 memory I will end process one that says "DCOM stopped suddenly, your system will have to terminate", and my computer cuts off so one of them svchost.exe is something supposed to be running. Some of the stuff I seen on google about it said it was the 'conflicker worm" or Trojan something, I know when it gets around 300,000 to 400,000 on memory hard drive starts making a cllclllclclclclclclclccc sound i can hear in another room. I don't know if someone is using my computer remotely of if its just trying to grind the hard drive to permenant crash, but it sounds bad when its really wound up!
I will say this, if you figure it out I will buy the AVG and tell all my friends you guys are king of the pile! i was raised in a country store and I can sell ice to eskimos. You fix my problem I will tell all my friends to buy AVG. You see the list I been thru, you understand I don't wanna spend money on something that isn't gonna fix my problem!
Hello Gary, Please try with the following steps to avoid the Svchost.exe file from your PC: 1. From the Start Menu, type "Resource Monitor" and run it. 2. Click the checkboxes to the left of each of the svchost.exe processes (or just those that you care about). Now, switch to the CPU tab: 3. See the names of the logical services in the middle pane? Now you can sort by the CPU column and you've got the name of your out of control process. 4. You can right click and try to stop or restart just the one services, or even use default browser's default search engine to "Search Online" for that service name. Please feel free to contact us for further assistance. Thank you.
