Scanning

How do I stop AVG from changing an option in my Windows registry?  I no longer use notepad.exe and I use Notepad2.  When I run a scan, AVG changes this option and I have to restore it every time. Can I stop AVG from scanning my registry?  Thank you.

I'm sorry, I should have said that I use AVG AntiVirus Free.
