Uninstall error message 0xE001003D

When I try to uninstall AVG Zen I get error message 0xE001003D ('sorry, we've experienced a problem during initialization'). Does anyone know how to get round this problem and uninstall AVG Zen?

We are sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused. We would request you to run remover tool to uninstall AVG Zen. To run remover tool, please visit http://www.avg.com/tools#tba2 and click on "AVG Remover" to download the remover tool and run it on your PC. It will ask you to select which product you would like to uninstall. Please select and follow the setup instructions to uninstall AVG. Thank you.
