How to stop computer from shutting down after scan.

Sometimes when I'm on the computer a box pops up saying that the computer will shut down ,if I'm not looking at the screen when this happens and I don't cancel the shutdown I lose everything that I was working on. How do I disable this feature on AVG Antivirus 2015?

Carl, In the AVG Advanced Settings scan settings, Additional scan settings -> Computer Shutdown Options ensure that 'Shut down computer when scan finishes' is disabled.

Thank you Alan.

Alan, I don't have the "Additional Scan Settings" in my Advanced settings menu or "Computer Shutdown Options" am I missing something? This is on AVG Antivirus 2015 with updated firewall.

Carl, AVG Antivirus 2015 doesn't feature a firewall. That is part of AVG Internet Security. Have a look @ the User Manual Page 106 (http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/doc/AVG_Internet_Security/avg_isc_uma_en_2015_28.pdf).

Alan, I originally had AVG Antivirus 2015 2 year subcription and a recent call to a phone support tech from Bombay told me that I had a virus after taking remote control of my computer. He said it was because I didn't have a firewall installed. I went on-line to AVG and added the firewall which changed my subscription to Internet Security. I looked at the manual you referenced, and I still can't find the shutoff option in my "Avanced Settings".

Carl, Do you use the 'Scheduled Scan'?.

I finally found it, I was looking for it in the side menu and it was actually embedded in the drop down menu itself, just not highlighted. Thanks again for your help.
