Windows hangs in splash screen following AVG update

There seems to be an issue with the latest virus update released last night as all windows PCs do it start up and hang on the the windows splash screen. I've found a workaround (boot into safe mode and uninstall avg using the avg uninstalled). We have had to install another product for the time being. Please help as we are using the paid version!

Harj, The AVG (SMB) support in Brno, Czech Rep.. will probably deal with your query @ their earliest convenience. Also, For a more direct contact method you may wish to try this new link (http://www.avg.com/ww-en/customer-support-business).

Three of our windows servers has crashed since 18th June, all of them with AVG installed. Maybe it's also because of AVG update. After hard restart they were OK.

Hello Harj, could you please specify the version of AVG where it happened (e.g. AVG 2015, 2014, 2013 or 2012). Several users on Kasea forum has fixed the issue by reinstalling the AVG, could you please confirm that it will help you as well.
Thank you, your help is much appreciated.

Hi Jaroslav,

we we are using the paid business version. Have tried the following and run the update from within the app.

AVG for Workstation (64bit)
avg_ibw_x64_all_ltst_3495a9552.exe

As soon as you restart the PC windows hangs again!  I've tried this on windows 7, 8 & 8.1 all pro versions.

Hope this can be sorted soon.

Ok the way we have got it to work is:

1. Booting into  to safe mode.
2. Uninstall avg from the PC using the avg uninstaller from the downloads.
3. Reboot the PC.
4. Uninstall Trustee Rapport.
5. Reboot the PC.
6. Install the latest version of avg from downloads and update.
7. Reboot the PC.
8. Install latest version of Trustee Rapport.
9. Reboot the PC.
10. Run the avg first scan.
11. Reboot the PC.

Following the above process we have managed to resolve the issue.

Hope this helps others affected.
