file folder exception not working

AVG keeps putting the executable file for a game into the virus vault.

I can restore it but every time I run it it puts it back into the virus vault.

They are marked as exceptions under advance setting yet every time I try to run it AVG puts it in the Virus Vault.

Any ideas?

Hello Martin, I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. I do understand your concern. May I know does AVG detect that file as a virus? If yes, have you removed the file and sent to virus vault? Thank you.

Hi Rajendra

I get no indication that AVG is detecting the file as a virus.

I when I try to run the game the .exe file is just put into the vault and  I get a game error saying unable to find file. I then have to get the file out of the vault and back out into its correct location.

file is C:\Combat Mission Shock Force\CM Shock Force.exe.

both the file and the folder are in the exceptions list under options>advance settings.

Hello Martin, I request you to try removing your AVG program with the remover toll and reinstall it once. That should resolve the problem. Use the remover tool accordingly. For 32 bit system : http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x86_2015_5501.exe and for 64 bit system : http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x64_2015_5501.exe . Please get in touch incase you need any further assistance. Thank you.

hello

I uninstalled and reinstalled and it was fine when I used AVG 2012.

However, AVG has just updated to 2015 and the problem is back.

Is there a way of forcing AVG to ignore a file other than via the exception list?

or stopping it from updating the version and just doing virus updates?

Hello Martin. I would suggest that the best way is to add the C:\Combat Mission Shock Force\CM Shock Force.exe. to the AVG's Exception by following the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/18WB2dg. Please feel free to contact us again should you need any further assistance.

hello

I  have already done this even thought both the file and the directory are in the exception list every time it is run the file is added back to the virus vault and I have to restore it back out but cannot run it..

As mentioned above I uninstalled and installed 2012 AVG which allowed the file to work.

however after the auto update to 2015 the problem is back.

Is there a way of not excepting the software update while allowing the virus database to continue to be updated so that I can continue to run 2012?
