AVG Scan problems after Win10 Upddate

My Windows 10 was updated yesterday to:

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3194496)

And now shortly after I begin a scan I get a message that Windows 10 has had a problem and will reboot in 1 minute.  Tried the scan 3 times, each time with the same result.  Anyone else having this problem?

I am having the same exact problem.  I followed the link above and there is no solution to this problem.  Windows 10 will automatically restart if I try to scan.  Scarily, it also shows a number of threats before it shuts down.  Is there a patch we should download or are you working on resolving the issue?

Yes - I just had the issue, was running a scan.  I even restored to yesterday's backup and problem not solved.   Thank you for your post.  I will try the link I see in your thread.   I have run a Microsoft Security Essentials scan and found non of the issues.

I too, am having exactly the same problem.  I have even used the "Fix AVG" option and that did not solve the problem.   Next up will be delete the APP and re-install.

Yet wishing someone would give us a real pointer to a solutions.   The one offered to Robin has nothing but her initial post of her having the problem

ok uninstall the udpdate and then also turn off your automatic updates so it doesn't get reistalled, and hopefully maybe avg and microsoft will say ok turn back on auto update as i did exactly what they said to do and uninstall and it's working. as the problem is this cumalitive update is the preview build that are now being put out to the rest which includes the bugs so that's why it's causing the problems

I've got the samen problem, uninstalled windows version from 29092016 and the problem was solved. yet it looks like the samen problem as in 2008.

I have the same problem.  Spent all morning going round and round with AVG support.  Uninstalled the Windows update (and actually had to use advanced settings on bootup and load a previous retore point), hacked the registry so that Ethernet was also set to "Meter On" like WiFi so that Windows would stop auto-updating and ruining all my progress, and the problem of constantly rebooting has stopped.  This is only a stop-gap measure though, until either AVG or MS figure out why 22 new MS files are showing up as viruses to AVG.  AVG wanted me to contact one of their reps online, but I'd already spent half of my weekend fuming over this.  Since there isn't a real fix yet, I couldn't see tech support doing anything else that I hadn't already done.
