AVG Internet Security no longer auto updating

Since Sept. 25th, the automatic update no longer happens. It is still set for automatic updates on the virus definitions in the control panel. History shows no attempts to update or errors. If I run the update manually, that works, but then it does not update itself in the following days. I only noticed since it gave warnings that the definitions were out of date after a week or so. I have rebooted, no difference. Normally I just hibernate the system, and it would update on wakeup. Now it does not auto update at all, ever. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I am a paid user running AVG Internet Security on Windows 7 Ultimate.

I tried the repair, it got most of the way through, then errored out. Tried it again, same thing. So, figuring you would then ask for an uninstall/reinstall, I started that process. The uninstall also errored out, with a General Error. Then tried a new install, it got most of the way across on the progress bar, sat there for quite a while, and also errored out:
Description: Service %NAME% failed to progress during startup at checpoint %CHECK_POINT% (wait hint %WAIT_HINT% ms) in %WAIT_TIME% ms.
Error code: 0xE0010032

As I mentioned in first post, I AM a paid user, running the paid version of AVG Internet Security.

One additional point to my second post - after yet another reboot after the reinstall attempt, it does look like AVG is running again, is shows in the taskbar, and the UI shows all is protected. Guess I wont know till another day if the auto update is working now, I will let you know.

Hi Christopher

My AVG 2014 free version also stopped autoupdate virus definition file since Oct 5 and the new defnition file only updates in 1 to 3 days now, not 3 times a day. Because I am using the old computer with low Ram, so I need to stick  with 2014 version. I will need to wait until November for the new computer arrive, I will install AVG 2016 free without Zen. I have the installation file which downloaded on May. But I don't know why some AVG technical person said it will only install 30 days trial version only, some said it will install AVG 2016 free without Zen, I don't know who is correct!

Hello Boris,
Please be informed that the AVG Free edition without the AVG Zen interface is no longer available for the download. We would request you to install the updated AVG Free program  so that your PC will be more protected than before.
Thank you.

Christopher, Please ignore the user Boris Po posting. It's totally irrelevant as far as your topic with AVG Internet Security is concerned.

I ran the remover tool, that completed successfully, as did the new install. I will keep an eye on the updates this coming week and let you know if they do not run automatically. Thanks for your help!
