Anti-virus shuts down computer before completed scan

Hi,

I've tried running a full anti-virus scan, but it seems to be that my computer shuts down as soon as the scan hits about 78% completion. Tried a few times, and it's happened every time. I've checked the scan settings, and it's not set to automatically shut down the computer after a completed scan. Also, it doesn't finish the scan, it keeps telling me the last full scan was done in February (though I've tried several times since and just figured it had shut down after a completed scan). Any ideas as to what might be causing the problem?

Hello Stephen,
We are sorry to know that computer restarts before completeling the scan. This can happen, if any threat message s detected and it prompts to restart. To fix this issue, we suggest you to run AVG repair and see if that fix the issue. Please click on this link for the steps to run AVG repair avgclick.me/RepairAVG and this will change the serttings to default in AVG.
Thank you.

Hi,

I tried that and it had no effect. I also tried manually scanning each individual folder, in case there was something there which triggered the restart, but nothing happened.

Stephen,
We do understand your concern, we apologize for the difficulties. We appreciate your efforts in trying to fix the issue. Could you please provide us the screenshot http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot of the scan progress(make sure it should be nearer to 78%)  and version of AVG program you have installed? We will check into this and help you further. Thank you!
