Problem with AVG Free on Windows 10

I cannot resolve a problem with AVG Free on my Windows 10 PC. Occasionally during a scheduled scan, the AVG Watchdog Service process gets hung at about 17% CPU usage. I can't end this task using Windows Task Manager. The built-in AVG uninstaller fails when I try to uninstall the program. I am able to stop this process by doing a clean boot, and then I can uninstall the program. I have reinstalled it three times, and the same thing keeps happening. The last time I reinstalled it, the program information was: AVG ver:16.131.7924, AVG Zen ver:1.113.2.50020, AVG Framework ver:1.143.2.50864. I have used AVG Free with earlier Windows OSs for over 20 years without a problem. Please let me know if anyone has seen this problem before on Windows 10, and if you have a solution for this. Thank you.

Thank you for choosing AVG, J. Howard.

Yes, we are aware of this issue, we apologize. We would like to inform you that the issue is caused by outdated Logitech drivers and is unconnected with our software. This has been confirmed by Microsoft.  We request you to update or remove the Logitech drivers. We suggest you to contact the Microsoft support for further issues with this. Thank you for your better understanding.

Hello Ranjani,
After your reply on 12/2/16, I contacted Microsoft support, and they told me that they make the OS and couldn't help with the drivers. I then contacted HP support (the PC manufacturer), and they had me run 'HP Support Assistant' and search for updates. It found that no updates (software or drivers) were available. They asked me how you knew that outdated Logitech drivers was the problem, and which specific ones needed to be updated or removed. They said if a driver was removed, then the hardware it supported would not run. Please respond to these issues. Thank you.

Hello J,
We do understand your concern. The logitech drivers are generally found in the wireless or USB devices. This hardware will still work if they have old drivers installed. However, cause unnecessary conflict with the latest updates. So, we suggest you to manually update the drivers from logitech web site and see if that fix the issue.
Thank you

Hello Karthikeyan,
I was busy over the holidays and just had a chance to get back to this. I went through all the wireless and USB devices using Device Manager, and they all have drivers from Microsoft, Intel, or Realtek. None from Logitech. I have a scheduled Whole Computer Scan every night, and this problem occurs once every 4 to 7 days. I am able to recover by running a clean boot. Please advise.

Hello J Howard,

Thank you for explaining the current situation of your PC.
Are you still facing the AVG Watchdog issue even after performing clean boot of your PC?
J. HowardJ. Howard
The clean boot, corrects the AVG Watchdog issue. It occurs again in about 4 to 7 days during the scheduled Whole Computer Scan. Then I have to do a clean boot again.

Hello Balasubramanian,
Thank you for escalating this, and trying to solve the problem.
I ran the tool to collect and send the files about 25 minutes ago, and it completed successfully.
