How to enter exceptions

Dear sir/madam,

We recently bought AVG Internet Security Unlimited (2017). There are several programs on my PC which I want to exclude from scanning etc. I detected that it is not possible to select an ".exe" in "Resident Shield" and in "Scans"; it is only possible to select a path. However in "Software Analyzer" it is possible and I can select an ".exe". It is also not possible to select an ".exe" in the main "Configuration" screen under "Common" "Exceptions". Is this a bug in the program or am I doing something wrong?

Kind regards,
Alje Bakker

Hello Alje,
We can understand that you are unable to make exceptions from AVG Scan. Please use this article to add exceptions http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-make-exclusions-from-all-scans-and-shields and you will find option to add exe files in it.
Thank you!

Hello Abirami,
Many thanks for your response and the link. However there is still a problem: In "Hardened Mode" there is no textbox and no browse possiblity to enter anything. Is that a known bug or do I something wrong?

Kind regards,
Alje Bakker

Alje,
We are sorry to hear that. But we would like to inform you that you can just click on 'File path' tab in Exceptions window and click on 'Browse' button to locate the particular exe file. Then click on 'Ok' to save changes, so the exe file will get added to exceptions list of AVG Internet Security unlimited.
Thank you.

Hello Abirami,
Thanks for your answer. I don't think that you understand my problem completely. There are 4 tab pages under exceptions: "File paths", "Url's", "Cyber Capture" and "Hardened Mode". In "File paths" it is absolutely not possible to browse to a specific exe file; you only can browse to a path. Obviously that you can not enter an exe file under "Url's". The only tab where I can browse to and fill in an exe file is "Cyber Capture". In my previous message I told you that there is no textbox and browse possibility at all under the tab "Hardened Mode". Under this tab I can not fill in anything. Please help me; what goes wrong here. I only want to exclude some exe's.
Kind regards,
Alje Bakker

This doesn't work for me either. When I add an App to the exceptions it does not show up. In the advanced firewall tab, I can't add new or other programs that are not detected automatically. There are more problems, with the hardened firewall, I get messages from apps that want to connect to the internet, when I select "don't ask again" I get the same messages everyday whole day long, and it does not remember my settings. This is the first time I used AVG professionally. And actually the most important functions just don't work. So I think I leave it at a one time only. If you can't get such basic functions to work, there is no need to upgrade to AVG pro over AVG for free!
