simon holding complete removal of all AVG products
Hi, I have spent the best part of the morning trying to remove all trace of AVG from my pc. It started with just simply trying to uninstall it because of the amount of adverts and pop ups, since then the resulting difficulty in removing the product defiantly makes me want to remove it for good! I have tried the simple ways and the recommended avg removal tool both still are leaving me with over 70 residual files that are blocking other anti virus' from working. I have logged in as admin and tried removing the files manually from my program files but I get blocked with it telling me that I need admin approval. I AM IN ADMIN!!! What more do I need to do to uninstall and remove this program. AVG ADMIN this is not on! If I choose to remove your files then that is exactly what I should be able to do!!! Any suggestions?
I apologize for the inconvenience. I would suggest you to uninstall the program completely using AVG remover and AVG Clear tool. Please download and run AVG Clear tool: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe . This tool will help with removing antivirus component of AVG 2017 and its traces. Open tool User Account control - click "Yes" Windows safe mode - click "No" (we cannot recommend use the tool in safe mode, because there is a problem with compability) Choose installed version (AVG Free, AVG Internet Security) Click "Uninstall" Click "Restart computer".
After the restart, please follow the instructions in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG to run the remover tool (If it doesn't show any AVG products, please click on Run anyway). Do also remove AVG folders manually from C Drive- program files.
