Hello Klen,
I understand the inconvenience caused. I am sure we will be able to fix this together. Powershell.exe is a type of EXE file associated with Windows 7 Home Premium developed by Microsoft for the Windows Operating System so it seems like a false positive. Please share a screenshot of the AVG detection to assist you further. You can check the following link to see the instructions about taking the screenshot (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot). You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Best regards,
Alok.

Klen,
Thank you for providing screenshot. This seems to be a false detection by AVG Free Antivirus. Hence please add that file to AVG exception list as per the steps mentioned in this article ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-make-exclusions-from-all-scans-and-shields ) and this will be a temporary fix. For the permanent fix, please report the false detection by AVG at https://www.avg.com/submit-sample . Our developers will check that and whitelist that file from AVG virus definitions.

Klen, I understand the inconvenience.
I request you to check whether powershell.exe application is set to run on system startup.
To check this please follow the steps as mentioned in this link: https://www.howtogeek.com/74523/how-to-disable-startup-programs-in-windows/ .
If powershell.exe is listed then please click on it select "Disable" option.
Please make sure that you do not disable any other applications.
Keep us informed about the status.

I'm wondering why this problem is still manifesting in current versions of AVG in June 2021? If it is a false positive, why is AVG still quarantining the Powershell.exe file when Visual Studio is installed?  User-added image
