Hello Jacqui,
I do understand the inconvenience you have faced, I will definitely try my best to fix this for you. May I know how did you narrow down this to AVG firewall? Did you verify it by disabling AVG firewall and the issue is resolved? If yes, please check if AVG firewall is configured with below recommended settings or not.

Open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Network Profile and change it to Private.
Open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Policies->System Rules and set all rules to "Enabled".

Make sure the above settings are applied and let us know if the issue persist.

In response to the question posted on the AVG support forum here, it's important to understand that issues related to Spotify can often be specific and may require a direct approach for resolution. Spotify offers a variety of ways to contact them for support, as detailed in "How to Contact Spotify" at https://spotifyerrors.com/how-to-contact-spotify/.

This resource is incredibly helpful for users experiencing problems with their Spotify account or service, as it provides direct links and steps to get in touch with Spotify's customer service team. Whether it's an issue with account access, payment, or technical glitches, this guide offers a comprehensive approach to seeking assistance directly from Spotify.

Additionally, the forum question addresses a concern that might involve both Spotify and AVG's services. In such cases, a collaborative approach is beneficial. Contacting Spotify using the guidance provided on the aforementioned website can help determine if the problem originates from their end. Concurrently, it might be wise to reach out to AVG support to ensure that the AVG software is not inadvertently blocking or interfering with Spotify's operations. AVG's customer support team can provide insights into potential compatibility issues or settings adjustments that might be necessary to ensure seamless functioning of both applications.

Lastly, it's essential for users facing such issues to keep their systems and applications updated. Regular updates often resolve underlying bugs and compatibility issues. Both Spotify and AVG frequently release updates to enhance performance and security. Users should ensure they are running the latest versions of these applications to minimize conflicts.

If the problem persists even after contacting both Spotify and AVG support teams and updating all relevant software, it may be useful to seek help in community forums or consider alternative solutions such as reinstalling the applications or checking for system-wide conflicts that might be affecting the software's performance.

Have a nice day!

Hi Jacqui Brogan,
If AVG is blocking Spotify with its firewall, You can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Check AVG Firewall Settings: Open AVG and navigate to the firewall settings. Look for any rules or settings related to Spotify. Ensure that Spotify is not listed as a blocked application. If it is, modify the rule to allow Spotify.

Create an Exception: Add Spotify as an exception in AVG. This can usually be done through AVG settings. Add the Spotify executable file to the list of exceptions, so AVG doesn't block it.

Update AVG: Ensure that AVG antivirus software is up-to-date. Sometimes, issues like these are addressed in newer updates.

Reinstall Spotify: If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling Spotify. This can sometimes reset any conflicting settings.

Contact AVG Support & Spotify Support: If the issue continues, you can reach out to AVG customer support for assistance. They might be able to provide specific guidance tailored to her antivirus version.
If you still face issues then contact Spotify customer support at https://spotifyauthority.com/how-to-contact-spotify/
Verify Internet Connection: Sometimes firewall issues can arise due to a poor or unstable internet connection. Ensure that your internet connection is stable.

Remember to exercise caution when making changes to firewall settings, and if uncertain, seek assistance from AVG support or a knowledgeable individual to avoid compromising system security.
