AVG AntiVirus Free Update - General Error

Hi 

Somehow I have not updated my AVG since 2014. Now when I try to update it (ending all the Windows Installer processes) the update seems to be running till 70% and then the update fail, giving a Genereal Error pop up in the right side bottom system tray.

I tried to reinstall AVG AntiVirus Free from https://www.avg.com/en-ww/free-antivirus-download 
but after downloading it when I try to run the .exe file I get a pop up from AVG saying there is a
threat found: Virus found Win32/Heri
Object name: c:\\windows\temp\7zS817F729E\avgsetupapix.dll

and nothing else happens after that. This Virus is not even letting me update my Google Chrome. There are quite a lot of issues with this error and chrome as well. Most of the threats are found in my temp folder and dll files. Once I remove the threats selecting "removing all" my headphone jack stops working for a while. 

I want to update my AVG please help me do it.

OK Neehaarika, Windows Defender didn't actually become an anti-virus prog until Win 8. Prior to this it was just an anti-spyware prog..

Hello Neehaarika,
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with  AVG Free Antivirus updates. In this case, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG Free Antivirus 2017. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version. Please follow the instruction ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product ) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool. After the computer reboots, please follow the instruction (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free) to download/install/activate AVG Free Antivirus 2017.

As told earlier like how am not able to update chrome or new version of AVG, while running the .exe file of AVG Remover also I am getting a threat and nothing else is happening later on. I am trying to remove the threat and it doesnt even get removed though AVG . basically am not able run anything new in my system. And since yesterday am not able to remove threats - virus 

I dont know what to do ...now ...Please help me.

I understand this must be difficult for you.
Please provide me the screenshots of the error messages and also the Virus detection messages.
Please also include the screenshot of your AVG Anti Virus Free User Interface.

This kept happening whenever I tried to install or update anything via .exe files.

And I have managed to uninstall AVG manually killed all avg processes and updated my Windows defender. My system slowed down may be because of the virus I have in my system(I guess)Now when trying to install AVG FREE , I got this below error. what does it mean ??

On the safer side I wanted windows defender also. Is it causing this problm ??

Yes, the screenshots are visible, thank you. The error message occurs because AVG traces are still present on your computer. Please run both AVG Remover and AVG clear tool mentioned in this article https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product&supportType=home. Restart your PC and follow the article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free to install AVG Free Antivirus updated version.

Hai I somehow managed to clear all the avg components using remover and clear and I have installed basic version of Avg Antivirus FREE edition . It asked me to disable or uninstall windows defender for better performance . so I have disabled windows defender and activated AVG . 
Had a complete scan and nothing much was detected but still my systems performance is very slow , it dint get picked up.

google drive and google chrome has issues evrything got slowed down . Chrome doesnt open anymore . Uninstalled re installed nothings working. Pls Help!!
