I tried this already and no items or files are being shown in the rescue center! In my computer the Microsoft word and excel files present on the desktop and in downloads have been disappeared. Please sought out my problem, it will be appreciated.

Hello Aaraiz,
Thank you for your valuable efforts. We would like to know whether you have installed AVG PC Tune up trail or paid version on your system? Thank you.

On the first day of 2017, I decided to make a good action describing how I solved this issue, which, by reading the previous posts, including the ones from the AVG support people, do not bring the right answer.

I installed AVG Tuneup in order to test it.  After installing I was requested by the program to reset the machine, and to my astonishment, all files  were gone, exactly as Aaraiz, above describes.

I first unstalled AVG and AVG Tune Up, and it did not reverse what I had.  I looked over and found that my files were still in the computer, but under another user.  Then a light came to me!  I went on the User Configuration account and found that a new user was been created, with the name of my machine. There were two user, and the two were Administrators.  What I did, I just changed the attibutte of Administrator from the new user that AVG created to a Normal one, and did restarted my machine.

It took a while and even my screen went black, but after, I will say around 10 minutes, everything came to the state before I installed AVG!

So, I hope this helps somebody with a similar situation.  I think AVG did a bad job on not taking care of this.  It can be freigthing to a user suddenly thinking that it lost all of its files.

I doubt that I will test an AVG product again.

Hi Aaraiz! A friend of mine recently accidentally re-formatted his External Hard Drive which contained all his music library and media. Last night I purchased Pandora Recovery http://www.pandorarecovery.com/ I have never ventured into data recovery before, but I have to say that this program is not only effective, but also very intuitive to use.
I love the way the recovered files are shown in folders, in this case music, with each type nested inside, i.e. MP3, AIFF, etc. It even restored the song and album name, and the artwork! I think this program can help you

Hello I have the same issue I have a depository drive where I save all my clips and photos. After starting standard cleaning now twice it deleted all files and even some file links. crippling drive completely. since I use the tuneup for several years on win7 I couldn't believe it but it is direct link.
I ended up formatting the drive as it was out of function. Luckily I have all saved on other drives. I use full version of 2017 run on win10. Can someone instruct where a patch can be obtained. Otherwise I need to see other solutions this is a bit annoying.
Thanks for support.
