High CPU and memory usage when use Flash Player and images-heavy sites or download files

Hello! I use AVG Free. I have big prob with high CPU and memory usage when use sites with Flash Player and many images or when I download files. I posted my question in Adobe Comm and Answers.Microsoft. I decided to ask here too because it maybe a prob with the antivirus (today I unchecked Link Scanner) or AVG Free might have a prob with some PC driver (as I read something similar in CNET AVG forum). Here are my ussues:

From around 2 years I have issues with high CPU and memory usage when use Flash Player and images-heavy sites and when download files. The issues happen in Mozilla, Opera, Opera Beta and Chrome. CPU usage becomes as high that my PC start sounding like a helicopter. Here are some sites I cannot use for that reason (digital design related):

https://www.sumopaint.com/home/#app
http://weavesilk.com/

And this TV site:

http://www.hotstar.com/tv/diya-aur-baati-hum/81/episodes/81/9993

Even if I chose an interactive theme/appearance in Opera Beta (like Star Wars) CPU usage goes wild because Flash Player .

I asked some buddies and they don't have such issues with Sumo and Silk.

My graphic driver is up to date. Pagefile size is also ok, set min and max to 1.5x of the RAM.

My Hardware and Environment details:

Windows 8.1 (upgraded from Windows 8)
RAM: 4 GB (3.88 Usable)
Intel Celeron CPU G540 2.50 GHz
64-bit OS, x64-based processor

I can't attach my DxDiag.txt file and I'm not sure if it is safe to paste it's content here due to publicly of my post.

Hello Ves,
We are sorry to know about the inconvenience caused. We would like to keep you informed that 'High CPU and memory usage' is a diverse issue. The issue could be due to many reasons or any background application and not a particular program. We suggest you to check for any 'updates' for your operating system and install them. If you are concerned that some particular program/application is the reason behind this issue, please check if you are using the latest version of that particular program. We would like to keep you informed that 2016 is the latest version available in AVG. If you are finding this issue when downloading files using a particular web browser, we suggest you to 'reset' that browser. We also suggest you to uninstall all those unwanted applications which you do not use. Thank you.

Thank you for the reply! It happens in all browsers (I didn't check IE only because I never use it). But I have an even worse issue with updating OS (which is Win 8.1 upgraded from Win 8). Updates are unable to be performed no matter that Update Troubleshoot said it fixed problems all times I checked with it. It is impossible for me to get any OS update because it halts even from the beginning while checks for updates. No error messages, just stays on checking and in Task Manager the process is high but the subprocesses are on zero percents.  I read AVG Free could block updating somehow (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-update/avg-internet-security-keeps-blocking-windows/f7d9ea16-3dda-436f-af79-52ee3f6a305e). Is it possble this to be my issue with Win updates too? If I can't update OS I can't get the newest drivers which might cause my browsers/surfing issues, and most important - I won't be able to perform free upgrade to Win 10 (available only for 2 months only) because for this upgrade I need my current version updated. I'm in a total dark hole with this two issues.

Hello Veselina,

Sorry to know that you couldn't update Windows.
I request you to disable AVG antivirus temporarily by following the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/1GnMD3N and check whether you able to update Windows.
Also do you have the trial version of AVG PC tuneup installed on your PC?

Hello,

I tried with AVG disabled but the result was the same. I asked in MSoft forums because System File Checker found a common corruption in Win8/8.1. I currently work on solving that which also can cause update problems.

I don't have AVG Full Trial because I unfortunately can't buy it after the trial expired.

I wanted to ask one more thing which I asked before logged via my FB account. Sorry about that, I have a real account now and couldn't find my previous question.:( Two of the latest updates of Mozilla was detected from AVG Free. The first time I thought it is false positive and ignore the warning. This caused infection which I removed with Malwarebytes. The second time I secured the threat. I asked if are known issues between AVG Free and Mozilla but yesterday I got the same warning when Opera Beta updated. I secured this threat two and I'd like to ask if you have info about these new issuse with browsers's updates.

Hello Ves,
Even after disabling AVG if the issue persist then it is not an issue with AVG.
If AVG free antivirus detects Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers as a threat then it is the issue with AVG and we can help you in resolving it.
We have sent you the email instructions to get our additional support.
Please check for the email on spam or junk folders if the email is not present in the inbox.

Hello!

Sorry for my very late reply!

I stopped trying updating and instead upgraded to Win 10. Now the update issue is gone, Win 10 updates normally.

Unfortunately the problems with high CPU usage when browsing images-heavy sites, watching TV online and downloading still persist. I keep Link Scanner disabled but this didn't solve the issue.

Mozilla didn't have updates soon but AVG Free also detected infection in Opera updates two times. When asked in Mozilla forum some said it might be because the heuristic analysis but that time Malwarebytes confirmed the infection. That is why I secured the two Opera detections too. But I think you should know about these browsers detections too.
