Are System errors leading to the Blue Screen of Death related to AVG?
My Win7 Pro 64-bit SP 1 system (i7, 32GB RAM, 1.2TB HDs), is experiencing quite a few system failures resulting in the Blue Screen of Death, causing a system dump, and forcing a full reboot.
Some of the error messages received: * BAD_POOL_HEADER * DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL * SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
I run AVG Driver Updater so the system is running the latest drivers. I often run AVG 1-Click Maintenance to clean up the system. Googling this issue there are several people suggesting AVG and its firewall may be the cause. Even here on the Community website we see "remove AVG and reinstall it" as one possible solution, but which doesn't appear to resolve the issue.
Does AVG Internet Protection or its firewall have problems with Microsoft's OSs? If so, what are the solutions? Thanks.

Thanks for your quick responses. I'm running the latest AVG software: * AVG Internet Security 2015.0.6189, virus database March 13, 2016, scanner 2849 with AVG Anti-Spam 7.0.1, email protection for Microsoft Outlook * AVG Driver Updater Version 2.2 * AVG PC TuneUp Version 16.22.1.58906, definitions 1603, framework 1.62.1.59918
Can't take a screen shot of the BSoD and the error messages - the system died and locked up. :-)
Hello Gulam, No problem logging into Windows. The system failures occur during normal operation but not during any specific feature execution that I've noticed. Seems totally random. Sometimes occurs during the night when only background features are running.
Hello Mike, Thank you for the information. It is true than an anti virus program (not only AVG) may cause a BSOD error on your PC. But I would like to assure you that in this case it is not AVG that is causing the issue. It is some other hardware driver that is causing the error. We request you to contact your PC manufacturer support or Microsoft support for further assistance. Thank you.
Mike, Also is Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware the 'free' or 'paid for' version?.. Have a look @ this AVG article (http://avgclick.me/ConflictingApps). AVG Guru
Great feedback, Avinash and Alan. And you, too, Gulam. Much appreciated. I'll remove the "paid for" version of Malwarebytes and see if the number of BSoDs decreases. As mentioned I did have the issue before installing Malwarebytes. I'll try anything to improve the situation. Again, thank you. Mike
I am running the same AVG as Mike and took my computer to a repair place as I had the blue screen. They were blaming AVG and said I should go to Norton which I don't want to do. It cost me $125 and no assurance that it won't happen again if I continue with AVG. Reading above, their comments don't make sense. What else should I be checking? My husband installed W10 some while ago, runs AVG and hasn't had any problems with his laptop. I put in W 10 recently and 3 days later had issues and couldn't open it up, $125 and now this. Any suggestions AVG would be welcome, we have used your product for years (not the free one). Thank you.
