Can't remove trial expired panel

After downloading AVG Antivirus Free, I ran the trial version of Pro. When the trial period ended, AVG Protection now has a panel over the screen saying "your trial has expired. Buy Pro now to get back your full protection". I only want the free version, but can't remove this panel. Any ideas please?

Hi,
The problem is my version is already AVG Free. When I click on uninstall, that is exactly what it does. There is no option to downgrade to free version because that is what is installed.

Peter,
Thank you for trying it out and we appreciate your efforts and patience. We would request you to run the AVG remover tool to remove AVG trial version completely and re install AVG free. After you run the remover tool successfully, please download and install AVG using offline installation file based on your OS ( 32 bit or 64 bit).
To run remover tool, please visit http://www.avg.com/tools#tba2 and click on "AVG Remover" to download the remover tool and run it on your PC. It will ask you to select which product you would like to uninstall. Please select "AVG Protection" and follow the setup instructions to uninstall AVG.
Then to determine whether your OS is a 32-bit or 64-bit, please click on this link. http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218 .
Please visit this webpage http://www.avg.com/us-en/download.prd-afh-free to download the offline installation file. Thank you.
