Tried everything to uninstall and remove AVG Antivirus Free from my laptop. AVG remover didn't remove everything. AVG_clear is also not working. It's really annoying. Please help!!

Sharda,

Sorry, have you tried to uninstall AVG via safe mode? If not, reboot your device in safe mode: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-reboot-your-computer-into-Safe-Mode and run AVG Clear and remover tool to uninstall AVG with its traces.

Refer this article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product to download AVG Clear and remover tool.

Note: Run AVG Clear first. After restart, go to Run window (press windows key and R key simultaneously) and type the following comments to delete the folders manually.

1. Type  “Temp” and press enter, remove all the files.
2.  “%temp%” and remove all the files.
3.  %appdata% - Remove all the AVG folders.
4.  %programdata% - Open the AVG folder and remove the old files.
5. Type C: and press enter, delete AVG remover folder.

Please go to c: drive-> program files and delete the AVG files. We are here if you need further help.

Thank you Ranjani, for your response!
When I try to AVG_Clear, I am getting the following error : The stub cannot run installer/updater executable ‘c:\Users\shardha\AppData\Local\Temp\_av_iup.tm~a04864\instup.exe’ (code 0x10b)

When I try to delete the folder myself, it gives me 'You need administrator access' kind of messages although I am logged in as admin.

Please advise.

Sharda, I am sorry to hear that.

Did you run AVG Clear from safe mode and still get the same error?

If it is, please run this reset access tool http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_ResetAccess.exe and then try to remove AVG folders from your computer.
