Hello, After the last update, the virtual machines (VMWare Player) specific cannot connect to internet. In the last versions, there was an option to allow traffic for specifi applications but setting the route which was removed (I don't know why the bad idea of removing it as if their target market was IT pros). There was also an even more convenient option reading "Allow any traffic from/to virtual machines supported by Firewall" that was also removed.
I tried to enable the option for AVG to ask wether to allow the traffic, but it seems to work with applications installed in the local computer, but it never asks for Vmware itself, less for the software installed in the virtual machine.
Loosing those features is a step backwards in user convenience.
How can I allow the Firewall to pass virtual machine traffic? Are the above mentioned features something AVG is planning to add back or should the users that prefer this commodity start looking for other protection options?
I am currently on AVG: Version: 17.3.3011 (build 17.3.3443.0) Released: 2017/03/30 04:54:28
Playing around with the settings, I realized that checking the option "Internet Connection Sharing" (I don't know the exact translation as I have it in Spanish) under "Firewall -> Policies -> Preferences" fixes the issues. I am not sure if is the best method, but it does the job.

I've tried tne same suggestions. Setting the wmvare network adapters to private does not help. Setting the "Internet Connection Sharing mode" helps. (I use Windows 7, VMWare Workstation 9 with VM's using bridged networking. AVG Internet Security 17.3.3011. Have not used AVGs firewall for until now, but will like to try it.)

No, changing the network did not solve the issue. So far, of all the suggestions tried, the only one that fixes the issue is activating the shared internet connection.
