Hi My avg internet security says I am fully protected, but the hacker attack says I have to put on enhanced firewall. This does not work.. But going through settings components it says my enhanced firewall is on. I notice the last couple of days a lot of blocked items in the logs. Can you help please. Thanks Frans.

It says "solved" but there is no answer. I have this same problem. What is causing this?
Hello John, I understand the inconvenience caused, let's work together to fix this issue. I was asking for a screenshot to check the exact issue, in the previous reply. However, I request you to open AVG Internet Security > Menu > Settings > components > AVG firewall (check if it's installed and also check if it's turned on). If the issue still persists, then I request you to repair AVG Protection (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-repair-AVG), and reboot your computer once. After reboot, please check if your AVG program is working fine. Best regards, Alok.
Alok, I also have the same issue even after running the repair process and restarting the computer.
The AVG Internet Security pane says 'You are fully protected" even though the Hacker Attacks tab is red and "Not Protected". I confirmed that the Menu/Settings/Components/Enhanced Firewall toggle is "On". Selecting the Hacker Attacks tab from the Main AVG interface pane and clicking on the Enhanced Firewall toggle changes the hacker attack icon to a ticked green and strike-through circle BUT the toggle switch does not move and remains red. After a minute or so the icon also reverts to a red unticked status.
I appreciate your efforts. In this case, I woudl request you to contact our chat technical team using this link https://support.avg.com/support_tech_chat for further assistance.
I too have this same issue with the Enhanced Firewall Menu/Settings/Components/Enhanced Firewall toggle is "On" yet it shows in red under "Hacker Attack" and also the silly reminder for my scheduled scans is not linked to the actual scans that occur WHY.
I apologize for the inconvenience. Please repair AVG Internet security http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-repair-AVG from the control panel and then check the status.
Regarding the scheduled scan, can you please elaborate the issue to assist further? Are you saying that the last scan status is not updating after the scheduled scan completes?
We regret the inconvenience, please contact our technical support team https://support.avg.com/support_contact_form?l=en via online chat where they will collect log files required for escalation and help you further.
I can't find the answer to this question about the Enhanced Firewall feature of PC Tuneup. I won't turn on and I am vulnerable. I am in a trial period and won't buy if I can't get this resolved.
Defender thinks AVG is controlling the firewall but enhanced firewall can not be turned on from the console even though it is shown as being active under AVG 'settings'????
Occurred after Windows 10 did a small update in relation to Defender on 13th April but one that for some reason is not showing under installed updates plus another update for Defender on 16th which is also not showing as being installed????
Understood, however Defender is telling me that all internet security is being handled by AVG as it should do???? It is only the enhanced firewall causing a problem all other aspects of AVG are working OK.
Problem only occurred after the 13th April Windows update.
Hello Roger, Yes, Internet Security is being handled by AVG. Regarding AVG Firewall/Hacker attack: We are aware about this issue and our development team is working on a fix. The issue will be fixed soon. Your computer will be protected from all types of malware, as the issue is only with our user interface. However, may I know the last modified date of your AVG Internet Security, to find it please right click on the AVG icon > select properties > general > look for the last modified date. Best regards, Alok.
Hello, I am having the same Firewall issue with the screen showing as unprotected and the red button will not respond. I notice you say this will be rectified in the "upcoming updates" but when do you expect to issue the update?
Colin, we do not have an exact time frame for the update to get released. However, once the update is released, this firewall issue will get fixed automatically.
Ive had this problem, easy fix is to go to Menu then settings and then troubleshooting. Then restore factory settings, the hacker system immediately becomes vaild (green), check your resonnel settings and your good to go. Please correspond if this works for you.
Thanks Mike Page......such a clean easy solution......surprised AVG Technologies didn't know that one....maybe they should employ you.....instead of some ramdom excuse......Many thanks again Mike.
I am sorry to hear that. Please uninstall the program from the control panel and reinstall the AVG Internet Security https://www.avg.com/en-in/download to fix the issue.
guys i had the same problem as most are asking about here , i uninstalled AVG and reinstalled it and advanced firewall started working , hope this helps
I have Malwarebytes also on my computer . When I re-installed to solve problem I get message after installation that 'strongly recommends to uninstall Malwarebytes ' say it is 'incompatable'. Anyone else have this issue? Does AVG really give me ALL the protection I need that I don't nee Malwarebytes? Help!!
I hit a similar problem with AVG 2018 Internet Security (8.4.3056) on Win 7 64bit Ent. - restoring factory settings in "troubleshooting" did not work. - repairing the AVG product in "control panel > programs & features" did not work. - removing and reinstalling AVG does appear to have worked, so far. I used the "clear" tool after the uninstall to try and make sure nothing was left hanging around. All very tedious. Better testing and product understanding needed before anything is released.

This Firewall feature is included in our AVG Internet Security program not AVG PC Tuneup.
Yes, it won't turn on and we are aware of it. It will be fixed in the upcoming updates automatically.
However, we request you to uninstall it from Control Panel -> Programs and features -> Uninstall and reinstall it as suggested here: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-Protection .

Roger, Please note that with Win 10 Windows Defender was re-classified into an AntiVirus product which can conflict with AVG.
