Turning Protection ON/OFF

Is there a way to temporarily turn off virus scanner only, not the firewall?

The On/Off button in AVG task bar icon will disable all AVG components. To disable individual components, please follow the steps provided by Balasubramanian S in his post.

Hello Saad,

I understand your concern.
Open AVG Internet Security interface, click on "Menu-->Settings-->Components".
You can turn off each components by sliding the green cursor to the left.

What does AVG's taskbar button for "Protection is ON/OFF" do? Does this turn ON or OFF all of the components or just the virus scan module?
