file shield on my mac won't turn on no matter what i do.

Please share the screenshot http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot of your AVG program where it shows that "File Shield" is disabled and let me know the version of Mac you are using.

i reinstallation and it still says the file shield is turned off.

Which version of Mac OS are you running? Could you share a screenshot (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361) of 'Security & Privacy' settings window where you allow the software extension?

I have AVG in a Windows partition (Win 10) and it serves my iMAC in the MAC portion as well. In MAC there is that warning relating to this correspondence - File Shield is Off. You suggest turning off the MAC antivirus and downloading a new.   I can access AVG only through Windows, so how do I proceed? Does this mean purchasing a new MAC antivirus?
