Mac crashes when attempt to run Mac or deep scan

My Mac crashes and restarts when I attempt to run deep or Mac scan.
Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling AVG.
When Mac restarts it resets the clock to 2001 and changes desktop photo (I can change the clock back but not the photo).
I have a MacBook Pro 15 inch mid 2010 running OS X Yosemite (version 10.10.5).

I have the same problem with a 2014 Mac Mini running OS High Sierra 10.13.3.  Was this issue ever resolved?

Hello Harry,

Yes, the issue discussed here should no longer appear in the latest 18.2 version of AVG Antivirus in Mac.
If you don't have the latest version, proceed to update the AVG Antivirus and check whether it resolves the issue.
